My first landscape shot

Here it is. My first landscape trial at Esplanade outdoor theater with Clubsnap member organized by SunChasers.

Got one important tip from them. The most important thing for landscape shooting is tripod. No matter how expensive your camera is, if you are using lousy tripod; then the photos that you take will be lousy as well. It can be equated with lousy tripod, your camera would be lousy as well.

I learnt that first hand as my tripod is those lousy tripod. Those cheapo tripod freebies when I bought my Nikon D90. The seniors showed me why my tripod is lousy and explained to me what's the difference between a better tripod and those cheapo tripod. Really learn my lesson.

No matter how many shots I tried, my photo IQ is never gonna be nicely focus. It will always has the soft focus issue due to my tripod not sturdy and stable enough. As the shutter released inside the camera, it will create a slight vibration. Though we might think it is nothing, but it is actually everything for landscape photography.

Anyway, I am sharing out one of my shots this evening. Photos that are taken with my cheapo tripod. As most of my friends know, I am not good at Lightroom or any Photoshop. So this photo I present to you are the image directly from my camera. Anyway, I resize it so that it wont so big and easier for me to upload to this blog. :)

Focusing issue with my 50mm F/1.8

I always face problem of getting sharp photo with my 50mm lens. I can only think of 2 reason on why my photos not sharp. One is my handshake.... and another is my lens problem that needs calibration.

So I did a test a moment ago on CT suggestion. I mount my camera on tripod and take some shots. Below is one of the shot that I took just now. I point the AF to the remote, and wua la.... see the remote, sharp sharp leh. Thus I can conclude that it is not the lens problem that photos I took is not sharp, it is due to my handshake. LOLx..... ^ ^

Before CNY at Chinatown 2011

Realised that I have photos from my first outing with CS members for street photography at Chinatown just before CNY 2011. Kinda lazy to post them to my blog. hahaha....

Anyway, these are all the shots that I had taken that day. All photos are not PP-ed and I only add watermark. Why I did not PP-ed?? Coz I dunno how to use Lightroom or Photoshop. Kakakak... that's the reason why I did not PP-ed them.

Another reason is I doubt I have arts cell inside me. hehehe... probably one of these days I should try it out at Lightroom since I have the software.

Please enjoy my noob photos. :)

I had purchased a new 55-200mm lens. This is an entry level telephoto lens. Though it is second hand and bout more than 1 year according to its previous owner, it still in good condition. We did the dealing at Harbourfront, thus later I went up to Vivocity and find a spot facing Sentosa. I took numerous photo. All these photos were taken between 7.10pm to 7.40pm. There are either as Vivid+3 or Natural format. The photos are as below:

UV Filter

My previous post I have stated that I bought myself a new lens that comes with a UV Filter. Later on I found out that actually the UV filter that I bought is actually considered those low end type or in another word, cheap stuff.

Fig: My UV Filter brand
(I know my hand looks like old man. Just concentrate on the UL filter)

Don't believe me? Try to go and google it then. Perhaps you can prove me wrong. :)
